Flood Watch for parts of the Cape York Peninsula

RIVER LEVEL RISES AND FLOODING OCCURRING ACROSS PARTS OF THE CAPE YORK PENINSULA

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Leichhardt River   
Upper Flinders River   
Cloncurry River   
Staaten River   
Mitchell River   Moderate flooding is occurring along Magnificent Creek at Kowanyama

Flood warnings are current for the following catchment(s) : Lower Flinders, Norman, Gilbert, Eyre, Diamantina, Thomson, Barcoo and Cooper

Flood Safety Advice:

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
