Minor Flood Warning for the Katherine River

MINOR FLOODING CONTINUING AT NITMILUK CENTRE

Minor flooding is continuing along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre, where the river levels peaked around 4.85 metres Monday morning.The river levels at Nitmiluk Centre are likely to remain above the minor flood level during the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday. Further rainfall is forecast over the catchment for the next few days and renewed river level rises are possible.

River levels at Katherine Bridge peaked around 15.26 metres Monday afternoon, and are easing slowly below the minor flood level.

A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End, Barkly,Tanami and Kimberley Districts.

Katherine River Gorge Road

Minor Flooding is occurring along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre.

Katherine Town

Flooding is no longer expected along the Katherine River at Katherine Bridge.
